Dr. William Hobbins
Minister of Music Ministries
Bill Hobbins is celebrating his eighteenth anniversary at St. Mark in the summer of 2017. He came to St. Mark in August of 1999 as the Interim Director of Music. After a few months, he became Director of Music. Bill feels fortunate to be at St. Mark, and cannot say enough about the support he and the Music Ministry receive from members.
Bill took Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music from North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas), and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in the Literature and Performance of Choral Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In August of 2008, he began his fourteenth year at Augusta State University where he serves as Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities. He has taught and worked in church music in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Georgia.
At St. Mark, Bill leads the Chancel Choir. He plans music for worship services, and coordinates with the directors of the other ensembles.
